Shot timers for IPSC training

Choose a shot timer that fits the way you practise, from individual dry-fire sessions to IPSC training on the range. Our selection includes SG Timer GO and SG Timer 2, alongside mounts, protective cases and carrying accessories. As an authorized Shooters Global reseller, ESTTAC can help you choose a timer and the right accessories for it.

A shooting timer gives you a clear record of time from the start signal to each shot. First-shot time, split times and total time make sessions easier to compare, while a par-time setting provides an audible signal when a preset time has elapsed. For IPSC practice, these measurements are most useful alongside your target results: time alone does not tell the whole story.

Which shot timer should you choose?

SG Timer GO is a practical choice for regular training if you prefer a compact timer with a top-mounted screen. The updated model has three-button controls and lets you adjust essential settings on the device. Choose the version with the pocket clip or quick-release mount to suit how you want to carry it.

SG Timer 2 suits shooters who want a more detailed front display and fuller control directly on the timer. Its automatic backlight helps in changing light, while magnetic mounting and USB-C or Qi charging give you more options for everyday use. Both models support live fire, dry fire and the Drills app.

Mounts and protective accessories

For the GO, choose a dedicated pocket clip or quick-release holder. The SG Timer 2 silicone case adds protection without covering the speaker opening. Our carrying case is listed for SG Timer and SG Timer 2. Match accessories to the model you own; GO and Timer 2 accessories are not interchangeable by default.

Questions about choosing a shot timer

Yes. SG Timer GO and SG Timer 2 are designed to detect dry-fire trigger sounds as well as live shots. Detection depends on the sound of your setup, sensitivity settings and surrounding noise; a dry-fire mode does not mean every trigger mechanism will be detected equally.

No. Both models can time sessions on their own. The updated GO lets you change essential settings on the device, while Timer 2 offers fuller on-device control. The Drills app adds functions such as session review, remote control and video with shot-time overlays.

Adjustable sensitivity and shot filtering help distinguish your shots from nearby shooting and echoes. Both models offer these features. Timer placement and settings still matter, so no timer should be assumed to ignore every neighbouring shot automatically.
