They feature a special acoustic filter that lets lower levels of sound through with little noise reduction for greater situational awareness (Awareness Mode) and at the same time offers protection against high levels of peak impulse noise. The product works in two distinctive modes; Awareness mode (16 dB) and Normal Protection mode (28 dB), offering protection up to 160 dB peak.

The rocker switch is marked with ‘3M’ and ‘CAE’ for easy switching between closed mode and open mode. In closed mode the earplug acts as a conventional earplug offering protection against steady state and peak impulse noise. A specially designed soft retainer helps ensure the ear plug remains secure inside the ear. They come with an attachment cord, convenient if you move in and out of noisy environments frequently. 3 sizes ear tips which are washable and reusable and a handy durable storage case.
