The Pleural Puncture Needle (14G) is a tool used for Emergency Chest Decompression, also known as thoracentesis. Thoracentesis is a procedure to remove fluid or air from around the lungs, in which a needle is inserted through the chest wall. When fluid or blood is aspirated, the catheter is inserted over the needle into the pleural space and the needle is withdrawn, leaving the catheter in the pleural space.
The Thoracentesis Needle Decompression Kit comes with a shock-resistant case to ensure that the needle is protected and sterile prior to use.
